Lost Generation

Encyclopedia Article

Lost Generation, group of disillusioned expatriate American writers, residing primarily in Paris during the 1920s and 1930s. The term was coined by the American writer Gertrude Stein and used by the American writer Ernest Hemingway in his novel The Sun Also Rises (1926).
