Max Schmeling

German heavyweight boxer Max Schmeling is the only German to have ever held the world heavyweight title, which he achieved by defeating American fighter Jack Sharkey in 1930. His most impressive contest, however, was his 12th-round knockout of the seemingly undefeatable Joe Louis in 1936.
