Ivan Pavlov

Ivan Pavlov
Ivan Pavlov, the Russian physiologist best know for his work on reflexes, is shown here with his team, demonstrating one of his famous experiments on conditioned reflexes in dogs. Pavlov's work earned him the Nobel prize as well as a high regard in his country, which kept him, an outspoken critic of the Soviet system, free from political persecution. Pavlov kept working until his death at the age of 87.
