Babylonian Empire

Babylonian Empire
Babylonia was one of the first great civilizations in the world. It formed around the region where the rivers Tigris and Euphrates flowed in relatively parallel courses towards the Persian Gulf. The region is also part of what is known as the Fertile Crescent, so named because the people who lived in this crescent-shaped area developed rich, irrigated farmlands.
