Temple in the Nubian Desert
The Nubian Desert in north-eastern Sudan was part of the ancient region of Nubia. Many temples were constructed in the desert before the 6th century ad, when the inhabitants of Nubia were converted to Christianity. This temple was devoted to a lion god.
